Strong list of recruiting prospects expected to attend Indiana’s home game against Northwestern
Indiana is expected to have a strong list of recruiting prospects on campus for Sunday’s game at Assembly Hall against Northwestern.
Inside the Hall has learned that the Hoosier coaching staff is expecting to host a nationally ranked class of 2025 point guard along with three 2026 prospects this weekend.
The 2025 prospect is Mikel Brown Jr., who is currently in Indianapolis for an event with Overtime Elite. Brown Jr., who plays for Cold Hearts, is a 6-foot-2 point guard ranked the No. 16 prospect nationally by the 247Composite.
Brown Jr., who is shooting 37.6 percent from 3, recently signed an NIL ambassador deal with adidas.
He is originally from Orlando, Florida and played at Sunrise Christian before transferring to Overtime Elite. Brown Jr. is averaging 12.9 points, 5.5 assists, 2.1 rebounds and a steal in 28.2 minutes per game for Cold Hearts.
Overtime Elite, also known as OTE, is a basketball league based in Atlanta featuring some of the top domestic and international players ages 16-20.
The class of 2026 prospects expected to be on campus are Owasso (Oklahoma) wing Jalen Montonati, Upper Arlington (Ohio) forward Alex Smith and Lebanon (Ohio) forward Anthony Thompson.
The 6-foot-7 Montonati is the No. 9 player nationally in the sophomore class according to the 247Composite. He already has scholarship offers from Arkansas, Kansas, Iowa, Kansas State, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Tulsa.
Smith is a 6-foot-9 forward who plays for the Midwest Basketball Club with early offers from Toledo, Ohio and Bryant with heavy interest from several other schools. He previously visited Indiana in mid-November.
Thompson is a 6-foot-7 wing with a 7-foot wingspan who plays for Indiana Elite. The lefty has scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Ohio State and several mid-major programs.
