Kel’el Ware continues strong summer league with third double-double
Former IU big man Kel’el Ware, the No. 15 pick in June’s NBA draft, continues to put together strong performances in the summer league.
On Wednesday, Ware posted his third double-double in summer league play as Miami beat Dallas, 92-79.
In 31 minutes, Ware finished with 24 points, 10 rebounds, three blocked shots, a steal and two turnovers. He was 9-for-12 from the field and 6-for-9 from the free throw line. Miami was +22 with Ware on the floor.
In three games at the NBA2K25 Summer League in Las Vegas, Ware is averaging 17.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.3 blocked shots and 1.3 assists in 26.9 minutes per game.
The 7-footer is shooting 63.6 percent from the floor, 57.1 percent from the free throw line and 40 percent on 3s.
Between five games in Sacramento and Las Vegas, Ware is averaging 18 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.6 blocked shots and 1.4 assists. He’s scored in double figures every game.
As a rookie next season for the Heat, Ware will earn $3,526,500 and wear jersey No. 7.
