Indiana guard Kanaan Carlyle attending Chris Paul Elite Guard camp in Las Vegas

Indiana sophomore guard Kanaan Carlyle is among 15 college players attending Chris Paul’s Elite Guard camp in Las Vegas.

The camp began on Sunday, June 30 and runs through Wednesday, July 3.

The camp aims to teach the attendees “what it takes to play at the highest level and how to prepare for the hurdles they will face in college and then the NBA.”

Former Indiana guard Jalen Hood-Schifino also attended the camp in 2022.

Paul, a 19-year NBA veteran, recently agreed to a free-agent contract with San Antonio after being waived by Golden State.

The 19-year-old Carlyle is entering his first season at Indiana after transferring from Stanford.

As a freshman for the Cardinal, Carlyle averaged 11.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. He was named to the All-Pac-12 freshman team honorable mention after playing in 23 games and making 16 starts.

He also earned Associated Press national player of the week, Dick Vitale Diaper Dandy of the week and Pac-12 freshman of the week in early January.

Carlyle, a 6-foot-3 guard, scored in double figures 15 times as a freshman at Stanford. He ranks seventh all-time at Stanford among freshmen in scoring average, eighth in free throw percentage (77.6) and 11th in made 3-pointers (32).

His 31-point effort against Washington State on January 18 set a single-game record for a freshman at Stanford. He also had 28 points off the bench in a 100-82 win against Arizona on December 31.

He committed to Indiana on April 20 and signed with the Hoosiers on April 24.
