UNC Greensboro, a member of the Southern Conference, finished last season 21-11 and No. 147 in KenPom. The Spartans lost to East Tennessee State in the Southern Conference tournament.
Bart Torvik’s projections for next season currently have UNC Greensboro at No. 133 nationally. The Spartans return Donovan Atwell, their third-leading scorer from last season. UNC Greensboro added Radford transfer guard Kenyon Giles, who averaged 14.3 points per game last season.
UNC Greensboro is Indiana’s fifth confirmed non-conference opponent — outside of Battle 4 Atlantis — for next season. Indiana leads the all-time series with UNC Greensboro 2-0. The Hoosiers and Spartans last played on November 28, 2014 at Assembly Hall. Indiana won 87-79.
The Hoosiers will host Eastern Illinois on November 10 at Assembly Hall, South Carolina on November 16 and Sam Houston State on December 3. Indiana will also host Chattanooga, but the date for that contest has yet to be confirmed.
Indiana will play three of the following teams at the Battle 4 Atlantis: Arizona, Gonzaga, Louisville, Providence, West Virginia, Oklahoma, and Davidson.
Battle 4 Atlantis takes place November 27-29 at Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
