Report: Class of 2024 IU recruiting target Liam McNeeley cancels Texas visit
Class of 2024 Montverde Academy (Fla.) forward Liam McNeeley will not make a visit to Texas this weekend, according to a report.
Andrew Slater reported Monday afternoon that McNeeley would not make the visit, which was scheduled for the weekend of September 22-24.
McNeeley is a native of Richardson, Texas.
McNeeley began his high school career at Pearce High School, near Dallas, Texas. He transferred to John Paul II in Plano, Texas, and then to Montverde beginning with his junior season.
Last season, McNeeley averaged he averaged 12.4 points, four rebounds and 2.2 assists at Montverde.
The entire Indiana coaching staff – Mike Woodson, Kenya Hunter, Yasir Rosemond and Brian Walsh – was at Montverde Academy on Monday visiting McNeeley.
The 6-foot-7 forward has already taken fall official visits to Kansas and Indiana. Those two schools are considered the top contenders to land a commitment from McNeeley. Indiana and Kansas recently went head-to-head in the Mackenzie Mgbako recruitment, with the Hoosiers prevailing.
McNeeley is considered the 13th-best prospect in the country, according to the 247Composite rankings.
Indiana is still seeking its first commitment in the 2024 recruiting class.
