For the first time, an IU alumni team will participate in The Basketball Tournament, also known as TBT.
The formation of the team, Assembly Ball, was announced in social media posts Wednesday morning.
Three former IU players are already confirmed to be participating: Juwan Morgan, Troy Williams and Miller Kopp.
TBT is a winner-take-all, $1 million event that takes place each summer beginning in July. Assembly Ball will play in the Butler Regional, which will be played July 19-23 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Assembly Ball is scheduled to play its first game in the event on Friday, July 19 at 8 p.m. ET. Tickets are available at this link.
The bracket for this year’s TBT will be revealed on Thursday, June 20. A full roster for Assembly Ball is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
