Former IU guard Jalen Hood-Schifino inks footwear, endorsement deal with adidas
Former IU guard Jalen Hood-Schifino has agreed to join the adidas basketball family, according to a tweet published Monday morning.
The 20-year-old Hood-Schifino was the No. 17 pick in June’s NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers.

Nick DePaula, who covers the footwear industry, reported the deal is a “multi-year footwear & apparel endorsement deal.”
Last winter, Hood-Schifino was one of five athletes to sign a name, image and likeness deal with adidas along with Trayce Jackson-Davis, Dick, Hailey Van-Lith and Hansel Enmanuel.

(July 17, 2023) – Today, adidas Basketball announces NBA first-round picks Gradey Dick of the Toronto Raptors and Jalen Hood-Schifino of the Los Angeles Lakers have officially signed with adidas Basketball and will star in the campaign creative for the 2023 Collection: Chapter 03, the category’s third installment of premium lifestyle offerings.
The rookies were previously signed as part of adidas Basketball’s first class of NIL athletes in December 2022 with former NCAA teams, University of Kansas Jayhawks (Dick) and Indiana University Hoosiers (Hood-Schifino) and now star in the brand’s new campaign as official adidas pro athletes alongside their families.
The 2023 Collection: Chapter 03 debuts alongside a new campaign captured by Jamaican-American multidisciplinary artist, Russell C. Hamilton, showcasing the Remember the Why journey that continues off the court and into the bleachers, celebrating the support system behind each player.

Meticulously crafted with versatility in mind, the next chapter of adidas Basketball represents an exploration of effortless form, function, and color, built to fit the needs of the modern athlete. The collection embraces a minimalist approach through bold simplicity and ultra-premium materials, made up of elevated essentials in Talc, Black, and Pulse Olive, and accented with exquisite details like silicon badges, concealed side seam zip pockets and ribbed cuffs and hems.
