D.J. White added to Cleveland Cavaliers summer league roster
Former Indiana forward D.J. White, who last spent time in the NBA in 2014 with the then-Charlotte Bobcats, will play in the NBA Summer League for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Cavs announced their 13-man roster for the Vegas Summer League on Tuesday afternoon and it includes White, a first round pick in the 2008 NBA draft.
White played for Laboral Kutxa Vitoria of the ACB League (Spain) and the Fujian Sturgeons of the Chinese Basketball Association last season.
In 27 games for Fujian, White averaged 15.7 points and 7.4 rebounds in 27.4 minutes per game.
His best NBA season came in 2011-2012 for Charlotte, where he appeared in 58 games, made 11 starts and averaged 6.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in 18.9 minutes per game.
For his NBA career, the 28-year old White has averaged 5.9 points and 3.2 rebounds in stints for Oklahoma City, Charlotte and Boston.
White is the only first round pick on the Cavs Summer League roster, which also includes Rakeem Christmas, Sir’Dominic Porter and Joe Harris.
Former IU forward Christian Watford is currently playing for the Indiana Pacers in the Orlando Summer League and Will Sheehey will play for the New Orleans Pelicans in the Vegas Summer League.
