Recruiting Notebook: Several 2020 offers extended following evaluation period
The Indiana coaching staff has been busy on the recruiting trail this week.
Following the lone April evaluation period that wrapped up on Sunday, college coaches have a four day period that runs through Thursday, May 2 to make in-person, off-campus recruiting contacts and evaluations.
After Thursday, no off campus recruiting or evaluations will be permitted until the NBPA top 100 camp in June in Charlottesville, Virginia.
On Monday, Indiana visited a pair of 2020 in-state targets in Trey Galloway of Culver Academies and Anthony Leal of Bloomington South and offered scholarship offers to both players. Leal was visited on Tuesday by Xavier and Northwestern is expected to visit him on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Indiana was reportedly in to see five-star Christian Brothers (Mo.) guard Caleb Love (per Jake Weingarten) and also visited four-star Prior Lakes (Minn.) big man Dawson Garcia, who received a scholarship offer, per his Twitter account.
Indiana’s Archie Miller will conduct an in-home visit with five-star junior Caleb Love today, a source told @Stockrisers.
Mizzou’s Cuonzo Martin will be in on Thursday.

On Thursday, Archie Miller is expected to visit class of 2019 IMG Academy (Fla.) target Lester Quinones, who will make his college decision on Friday, May 10.
Indiana was the fourth and final school to host Quinones for an official visit as he was in Bloomington last week. The Hoosiers are expected to follow up on Thursday with Archie Miller traveling to meet with Quinones on the final day of this week’s four-day recruiting period.
“It was just a great (official) visit,” Quinones said in a phone interview on Tuesday. “I got to interact with the coaching staff and the players there. I really connected with the players that are returning next season.”
Quinones said he primarily spent time with Devonte Green, De’Ron Davis and Jerome Hunter while on his visit.
“The coaching staff, the players, the strength coach, everybody there is like one big family,” he said. “Everybody there has the same goals.”
