Indiana set to host three of its top 2023 recruiting targets this week for official visits

A major recruiting week is set to begin later today for Indiana basketball as the Hoosiers will host three of their top 2023 targets for official visits.

After the coaching staff spent 10 days this month on the road for the July evaluation periods, it will now host Jamie Kaiser Jr., Arrinten Page and DeShawn Harris-Smith this week in Bloomington, Inside the Hall has learned.

Kaiser Jr. is set to arrive for his official visit on Monday evening.

Ranked No. 102 nationally in the 247Composite rankings, Kaiser starred for New World on the adidas 3SSB circuit. He played last season at Bishop Ireton in Burke, Virginia, but is transferring to IMG Academy in Florida for his senior year.

Kaiser Jr. recently told Travis Branham of 247Sports that his top five schools are Maryland, UCLA, Indiana, Virginia and Miami (FL). His visit this week will be his first trip to Bloomington.

In an interview with Inside the Hall last month, Kaiser Jr. praised the straightforward approach of Mike Woodson during their conversations.

“He’s just (a) straight-forward guy. No BS,” Kaiser Jr. explained. “He likes to get to the point and just let me know what the word is.”

Indiana offered a scholarship to Kaiser Jr. in May.

Page, a 6-foot-9 big man from Wheeler High School in Marietta (Ga.), received his first high major offer from the Hoosiers in early April.

Since then, his recruitment has gone national with offers from Alabama, Cincinnati, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Miami (FL), Missouri, SMU, UCLA and Xavier.

Page is scheduled to arrive in Bloomington on Wednesday.

In an interview with Inside the Hall in June, Page cited a strong relationship with assistant coach Yasir Rosemond.

“Coach Ya is texting me almost daily,” he said. “He is a cool dude. I like (Indiana’s) organization and how they are like a family and connected. I was excited about it (the Indiana offer).”

Harris-Smith is the most recent offer of the three players expected to be on campus this week. The Hoosiers offered Harris-Smith a scholarship on July 9.

He’s expected to arrive in Bloomington for his official visit on Thursday.

The 6-foot-5 guard is the No. 122 player nationally in the 2023 class according to the 247Composite. Harris-Smith plays at Paul VI Catholic and for Team Takeover on the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) circuit.

Indiana has successfully recruited several Team Takeover players in recent years, including Victor Oladipo and Maurice Creek.

Harris-Smith has a strong list of offers that includes Butler, George Mason, Iowa, Kansas State, LSU, Penn State, Rutgers, St. John’s, Texas Tech, TCU, VCU, Villanova and Xavier.

Indiana already has a strong foundation for its 2023 class with commitments from Gabe Cupps and Jakai Newton.

The Hoosiers are also recruiting TJ Power and Xavier Booker in the 2023 class.

Power is taking an official visit to North Carolina beginning Monday. In a recent interview with 247Sports, Power said Indiana is still under consideration.

All four of Indiana’s coaches watched Power on Wednesday at the Peach Jam in North Augusta, South Carolina.

“They’re still involved, I haven’t cut anyone out yet,” Power said. “When I get back is when I will start thinning things out but I have a great relationship with that staff and all the way through from top-to-bottom they have great dudes so that’s one I will be looking really hard at.”

Booker, the highly touted Cathedral big man, will announce his list of top schools tonight at 6 p.m. EST.

The Indiana staff watched Booker on Saturday in Milwaukee.
