Miami (FL) transfer Anthony Walker begins official visit to Indiana today
Miami (FL) transfer Anthony Walker is currently on Indiana’s campus for an official visit, Inside the Hall has confirmed.
A 6-foot-9 forward from Baltimore, Walker played in all 37 games last season for the Hurricanes. Miami reached the Final Four last season and beat Indiana in the second round of the 2023 NCAA tournament.
The 22-year-old Walker has one season of eligibility remaining.
Associate head coach Kenya Hunter has strong recruiting ties in the DMV area, encompassing Washington D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia.
Walker averaged 2.8 points and 1.2 rebounds last season for Miami. Over his 125-game college career, Walker has averaged 4.9 points and 2.5 rebounds. He’s a career 43.2 percent shooter from the field and a 20.6 percent 3-point shooter.
He played in all five games for Miami in their NCAA tournament run. In Miami’s 85-69 win against the Hoosiers, Walker scored four points and grabbed two rebounds in 13 minutes off the bench. He had seven points in Miami’s Sweet Sixteen win against top-seeded Houston.
A member of the 2019 recruiting class out of high school, Walker completed his high school career at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. According to the 247Composite, he was the 228th best prospect nationally in his class.
According to his profile at 247Sports, Walker chose Miami over Illinois, Pittsburgh, Rhode Island and VCU out of high school.
Indiana has three open scholarships for next season.
