Did we know if Peter was going to suffer a leg injury for 2-3 weeks or 2-3 years when we signed him? He had a record of injuries that’s why he missed the senior season in HS but we still signed him, why? Because we thought it was a short-term issue. I was never optimistic on foot/leg injuries on big man. Their bodies are too fragile. Not saying anything negative against Jeremiah. He’s a Hoosier now and I’m pulling for him no matter what. I’m just not buying the choice of subbing an injured big man with another.

Exactly, last season. Would you want Yogi and Noah buried in the corner? Would you want anyone else shooting 3’s last season? Sounds like rational coaching to me.

The scholarship is for FOUR years! So if he is suffering an ankle injury for 2-3 weeks “we’re wasting a scholarship”? You are absurd!

Not an “update”, you need patience. Wait until he has played in some games. This “rush to judgment” is silly and unseemly. He is a freshman!

Agreed…we haven’t seen near enough of this team (that is going to change and mature between now and November) to draw conclusions but I think comments like Alford Bailey’s “the corner three is frowned upon in Creans offense” might need to go away. Tom Crean hasn’t had a team like this in his time at IU (strong perimeter shooters, potentially elite backcourt, weak frontcourt) and I don’t think we have a clear idea of what this team’s offensive philosophy or approach to specific things (like corner 3’s) is going to be.

That’s how much of a mystery he is!

If they signed Holt and Kasongo, someone comes off scholarship. I thought the Ron Patterson deal was kind of shady, but I’ve never heard of a kid losing his spot 2 weeks before school starts. It’s speculative, but I could see Crean doing it. If it makes us better, I’ll take it, but dang, that’s cut throat.

You have to get his name right at least…. Jeremiah. But I agree that if he’s injured and can’t contribute right away, we’re wasting a scholarship. Peter wouldn’t be much worse if he had stayed.
