I think that the Tiers are : top, IU, MSU, MI, OSU; second, Wi, Iowa, IL; third, MN, Purdue; bottom NW, PSU, Neb.

Feel like this team will continue to get better as the season goes on and we will lose to 2 or 3 teams earlier on that we will be able to beat at the end of the year.

I think I dropped the kind of drug it would take to believe that list back in the early 70’s, swore never again, and have stuck to it. While I’d love for that to even ” seem ” real, even if for a short period of time, you’re welcome to my part of that anything that mind expanding. LOL

Oh, I agree completely. What pUKe has that get them the ranking in the preseason is all highly ranked players. I honestly don’t want all of our recruits to be 5 stars because in every good team you need glue guys, development guys, and guys that are willing to work for a couple years to see the court. Preseason ranking are based on recruiting or what you did last year (and how much of that team is back) more than anything. I like your optimism, but this year’s team isn’t going to be ranked high in the preseason and I’m ok with that. Crean had some great pieces in place and I think we could only lose 1, maybe 2 games (hopefully none) in the pre conference and build some serious momentum going into B1G play.

To be fair…he thinks he has our number because he most definitely does.

I don’t remember Yogi ever taking any games over with sharpshooting last season. I remember him hitting a few big shots late in games but I never remember him coming close to taking over that game. Yogi did a lot of good things last season but his jump shot wasn’t one of his strengths.

I’d look for Iowa to finish top 5. Michigan has to prove who they are without Burke before I can put them in the top 3.

It will be interesting to see if anyone can contain LaQuinton Ross this year. He was impressive towards the end of last season.

Except for Victor, none of the other 1000 point scorers consistently got on the glass like Bucky’s boys…and only Dekker returns. There is cause for optimism with Fisher, Vonleh, Williams and Perea/Davis despite the fact that they are a young.group.

Finally, a Hoosier who sees this team as a competitor on the Court.

Why does that NOT apply to KY? Great players play great-Vonleh and Williams. Really good players play well-Fischer and Robinson. And Davis plays like a Monster! IU will pleasantly surprise! But Perea and Hollowell will become great. Yogi and Will will lead with consistency and great (NBA level) skill. Gordon will be good. That is 10 deep. When Jurkin starts playing in February and March, this could be a great defensive team. If Hartman and Etherington get hot from 3-land, this could be a Final Four team. I admit, this is very optimistic. But not absurd.

Win every game at Home (9, that will be tough with MSU, WI, IL, MI, Iowa, OSU) ! Win on the road at PSU, Neb, MN, and NW. That is 13-5 in the B1G. Lose only to Syracuse away in the non-conference, that would be 13-1. For a 26-6 record. This is too good to be true! So down-grade to 24-8. But dream of getting better each and every game, and making a run to the Elite 8 in the Tourney.

I would take it as a mature kid wanting to see the entire picture before he discusses what he wants to do.

I once sat in the Illinois section (1990 NCAA tournament in the RCA Dome, 1st round–was there to see Loyola Marymount vs. Arkansas,) and I though they were the kinds of hillbillies you only find south of the Ohio River.

I can’t stand to watch us get outplayed by an inferior team coached by a guy who thinks he has our number.

CTC needs to take advantage of his athletes and try to speed up those plodding badgers. If he does that, we will get one win against UW.

Rankings, especially preseason, mean nothing.
However, I do think this goes along with my expectations, but I would not be surprised to see IU make it in the top 4.

I imagine not only that, but many of the incoming freshman who came to Bloomington late spring to begin working on their games to have crossed off some of their question marks. I expect most of the wings and guards to have a little bit more consistency from deep. And everyone to have a much better idea of how to play team defense.
