I can’t second this enough….ESPN is an absolute joke on how they base their rankings.  If anyone would be paying any attention to Buss, then he would be so much higher instead of somehow dropping.  Not only that, his profile says the largest area for improvement would be defense.  Anyone else see an issue with this picture.  Then, they drop JH down to 59???  Just b/c they aren’t on the table for other schools anymore, or b/c they committed to IU.

I understand these rankings don’t really mean squat when it comes to molding a group of guys and so many other faucets with NCAAB.  However, it’s so hard not to feel a lil biased after the h*** that we have been through.  Now after the hrs and hrs of hard work our staff has put in and the future recruits, it really feels like we should get a lil more credit.  I could understand if one guy drops a few, stays the same, etc…But i will never believe that ALL of our guys dropped their performance in the July Evaluation period to reflect the joke that is ESPN’s 2012 rankings…

I would do ANYTHING to see Ron “Buss” Patterson come in as a frosh and just burn the lights out in AH.  I love the kids swagger, physique, and mentality.  Forget all the B*** S*** hype, media, and rankings man….Bring the same game, heart, and attitude to LEARN/ADJUST your game to Bloomington. Then I’m telling ya man all Hoosiers from accross the land are gonna love ya (not that they already don’t) .  Not only that, you’ll have a very bright future ahead of ya young man!

I also think the move to the other Elite team was a public acknowledgement highlighting Patterson’s need to polish the offensive game. Not a knock. Just a fact. It will turn out to be a very smart move for him and IU, but probably is a mark against him in the foolish world of rankings.

You may end up being right, but a stress fracture is usually an overuse injury. I would not classify that as “can’t stay healthy”. He just needs time to let it heal completely. Sounds like he rushed back to the court too early.

He may also be raw by shear virtue of having to move up into a league that values strong bigs, but he isn’t meant to be a back-to-the-basket big man. He runs the floor and defends. What I saw of him, he did both of those things well. I don’t classify him as a project of the magnitude of Tijan and Bawa. If nothing else, he gets the benefit of running alongside a legit front line.

Essentially, if we have an item that is worth a mention that previously probably wouldn’t have gotten it’s own post, we’ll throw it up in this format.
