I couldn’t have said it better myself! We are truly blessed to have a man like Tom Crean coach IU.  He certainly is a great example of what is right in college sports!

As a pastor and one who emphasizes to the men around him the importance of being a spiritual leaders and barometers of their homes, I am jacked that Coach Crean is as open with his faith as he is.  There’s two types of people in the christian world; those who are “religious” and try to “convert” people and those who are “spiritual” and who live their life in a way that would make others want to follow their lead.  I have respect for those kinds of Christ followers and I can’t overstate how proud I am to have Coach Crean as the coach of the team I love! 

He is an excellent role model as a coach, man, father, and husband and I hope that his players and those around him are listening to him and watching him live his life.  One thing I feel nobody would disagree with is that we in this country desperately need men to stand up and be upstanding, honorable, trustworthy, and moral leaders of their homes.  Whether you believe as I do, as Coach Crean does, or not, that’s something that’s lacking in America.  The church to this point has done a lousy job and has existed as a very hypocritical establishment a lot of times to this purpose.  A lot of churches and religious individuals say one thing and do another.  It’s nice to see men like Coach Crean, Steve Prohm (Murray St. Head Coach), Tim Tebow, and others not only speak out for their faith but actually represent God in a positive way!

Thanks to Coach Crean for his words as well as his actions and for his effort to teach these young men something they’ll carry with them for the rest of their lives!
