of this team. If any one of the three can become a top 5 All-Big 10
player, this will be a good (20+ win) season. Vic and Will are the next
best players and have to get 22-25 minutes/game on the floor each.
Elston and Pritchard have to do it on the floor, “being 6’9” is no
longer good enough. Derek could be great, but can he develop the mental
side of his talent? Verdell can show that he is the senior leader that
we have desperately needed for the last three years. If he can accept
lesser “billing” but play great, then this can be a special season.
Austin and Remy have to bring it all and bring it hard every second on
the floor. They each have some real talent that Indiana has sorely
needed. I hope that Matt Roth hits 50% of his 3’s because if he can’t
Danny Moore might. Danny does a lot of good things in short stretches.
No more excuses now for Coach Crean, it is win NOW time! We miss and
love you Mo Creek and want to see you play again at 100%! GO IU!

What gets me is that the 2009 class was supposed to be the guys who really made a difference. Im not knocking those guys by any means. But it’s gonna be the two 2010 guys that have really added another element to the team as a whole. I mean,…. who woulda thunk two out of state 3 star guys would have been this great? Good sign for CTC. It isn’t all about rankings folks.

This isn’t anything groundbreaking, but assuming CZ is close to as advertised and everyone improves, then I think the real 3 keys to making a “leap” this season as far as player development are:

VO
Sheehey
Elston

If VO and Sheehey have improved as reported and if Elston can become healthy and consistently close to how he ended his freshmen year, then we could have a pretty exciting season on our hands.

There’s really nothing to hear to be honest. He’s going to take all of his visits and then make a decision.

I really like Purdue, but then again I really like Indiana too,” Willis said. “And then Kentucky and Louisville. It really changes day-to-day.”
Louisville: “It was a lot of fun to watch (the scrimmage). I was a little disappointed in the turn out by the fans, but other than that it was just fine.”

I want to know, too, but unwilling to pay for a premium account when I have ITH. However, that’s pretty unethical to post such things and Alex and co. frown on such behavior. If it’ll make you feel better, my friend works with Buss and he says GH is coming to IU! Ha, gotta love those third hand sources…

My admittedly limited understanding of it is that players can come to him and ask for help/advice/tips/etc, but he can’t actively coach in practice.

I could very well be wrong.

I think that the players that are coming in 2012 and players like Vic Will Cody and Remy , there will be enough depth and SPEED that the minutes will be there . The ” HURRYING HOOSIERS ” will be back and will wear down other teams …. Regaurdless of wins and losses IU will be one of the most exciting and entertaining teams to watch …CANT WAIT !!

He can definitely slash, has the athleticism to finish at the rim, can run the floor with the best of them and rebounds well for a wing.  I expect VO to be the lock down defender down the stretch of games.  He also needs to continue to attack the rim.  He also needs to work on his free throws, this goes hand and hand with his jump shot.  If he can develop into a good ball handler and a consistent outside shooter he can take his game to the next level.

Every time he went up to dunk last year I got excited about what he was going to do, but I would rather him just get the points than to make the spectacular play.

Although Mo Creek is only a year older than him I think that he has taken VO under his wing and VO will benefit greatly from this.  Mo Creek, when healthy, was a pretty good shooter.  I think VO will have a breakout year and we will be quite surprised by his play.

expectations:
~22 min/game
10 pts/game  5 rebs/game  ~1.4 ast/game  (dunks galore)
55% 2-pt average  35% 3-pt average  75% FT average

His highlight reel for next years HH will be sick!!

Agree.  I think their development this year and the degree to which Zeller assimilates to the college game as a freshman will really serve to be the tipping point as to how successful this team can be this year.  If they both deliver, I think we are an 18-22 win team and go to the tournament.  If each struggle a bit, it could be tough sledding and a fight to make it as an at-large bid.  I feel rather confident they can deliver.  I believe they are ready to from a maturity perspective, motivational perspective and as a team.

He is so good around the basket..that good FT shooting is essential..cause he should get the opportunites. He and Will S give IU and unique set of players..let’;s hope they reach their potential.

Just not a pure shooter.

What he does well is attack the rim. Now that he is stronger I expect that to be even better.

So the major improvement? Free throws. He actually did better in the second half or the % would be even worse. If he can knock them down at a 75% or better clip, I expect him to have a double digit average.

He may not start due to Verdell and CTCs love for him, but I expect him to be starting by mid-season if not sooner.

For now, he has to hit his FT’s or else all that slashing to the bucket won’t matter as much. Hate to see talent/athleticism like his on the bench at the end of the game.

His ball-handling and awareness looked much better, and he knocked down a three.

The sky is the limit. He not only has the talent, but a great hard-working attitude.
