You have to love the offensive put backs.  He is super quick.  I knew he could jump – the impressive aspect is how quickly he reacts.  Looks a little like shawn Merrian for the Mavs…not great outside shot but athletic, quick, and he is developing good chemistry with my main man Yogi…I wish Yogi were here now!

Most of the time, Hanner will the 5th option on the floor, with most of his points coming on runouts and putbacks.  What a weapon he’s gonna be.

What I love in these clips and when I saw him in the tournament in Bloomington is how hard he works. It is great for him to have such crazy hops and quickness but they could be wasted if not for his high motor.

He is still very raw, but with his high activity he is constantly disrupting the opposing offense and effects an incredible about of rebounds. He and Zeller will be amazing in the middle. Zeller can draw a double team often in the post, leaving Hanner there to clean up. Plus they will be the very fastest front court anyone could imagine.

Not to mention how easy ours guard like Remy and Yogi will make it for them.

I just hope we have Hanner for more than two seasons.

You hit the nail on the head.  I have watched him 5-6 games.  He needs coached up on defense.  Way too often his body is out of position trying to make the big play.  If he can understand he just needs to stay in front of his man, be concerned only with his position and then grab the rebound or go for the block when its there.  Right now he tries to make the big play all the time and / or just is not yet disciplined on defense.  Once he gets that he will be very tough on defense.  Its too bad Adams, in my opinion, does these kids a diservice and doesn’t coach more defense.  I am confident Crean will remedy that.

You mean we will have 2 players over 6’9″ that are not stuck in mud? Not sure I believe it.

[don’t get me wrong, I like Tom; but still . . . .])

I’ve got a potential nickname for him: (along the lines of comparison to Dwight Howard being Superman) HPs bat-like sonar around the rim, and the way he flies/darts in the air…he’s Batman;)

The versatility was exactly what I was thinking about with this bunch.  There aren’t a lot of college teams that can come at you from multiple directions and consider them all positions of strength.  There’s speed (and vision,) at the point with Yogi; there’s deft passing and touch in the post with Zeller, there’s strength/explsion on the block with Hanner; Hollowell can do just about anything he wants…that hasn’t even addressed the defensive end where I envision Patterson guarding anyone from 1-3 who might appear to be a problem (and I’m not convinced there aren’t a few 4s he could handle.)
