In the grand scheme of things Cody will do tremendous things. No excuses here but his bronchitis might as well been a physical injury. Oxygen and proper breathing are paramount when playing at your peak physical ability, so he did encounter some severe limitations. He runs the floor as good as any guard and will continue to do so. I feel Cody should stay at least another year and if he does so at that point the POY would be his to lose. I would say at this very moment Cody is more concerned with winning every B1G game, Banner 6, and his spring semester than what people are saying about his POY chances. Cody—Do what you do, and we are behind you regardless of unimportant opinions. Keep up the hard work on your academics, and basketball prgression. Hoosier Nation is behind you.

people need to just quit talking about this POY crap for CZ, open your eyes people he’s not even the best player on the roster, and i think he could really care less about it. he is a team player that just wants to win. the great thing is we’ll see him in candy Stripes next year!! GO HOOSIERS!!

Did you watch Plumlee against Duke last night? Its the first time he’s had to play against a decent big man; and the first time the refs let ’em play. He had six turnovers; was called for walking (and could have easily been called for more). I think his post move should be called the “Plumlee Shuffle”.
Smith needs way more consistency, in my humble opinion.
And yes, I am slightly biased.

In reply to george logothetis. I would rather have banner 6 as I am sure Cody would as well. However, we will not get a 6 th banner unless CZ gets tougher and CTC can sure up a half court offense that looks efficient and can score a win in tough environments. That means an inside out half court O that features feeding the post and letting CZ score or pass to the opposite wing for 3's.

In reply to george logothetis. I couldn't agree more. IU has so many scoring options that CZ isn't going to put up gaudy numbers like other POY candidates. It seems like people forget not very long ago these same hoosiers couldn't put up these scoring numbers without him there. Other teams put so much focus on him it gives all of our hoosiers great looks to average double figures and i personally think that a balanced team will go a long way come March.

If Cody isn’t in this race maybe he will stick around another year. Question: Who is everyone rooting for Illinois at Purdue? On one hand we dislike Purdue but Ill is more of a competitor.

I’ve been as hard on Zeller as anyone, but I still think he’s great. I think, as talented as he is, he’s still learning the game in regards to footwork, which I’m confident he’ll do.
Here’s a statistic that will suggest that his numbers will stay as they are if not increase: 27.4. Those are the minutes per game Cody is currently logging. You would have to assume those numbers will increase during the conference games.
