Last years UK team had no room for him to be one of their starters–not strong or good enough to put Randle on the bench and not blessed w/a body to bang in the paint w/Cauley-Stein/Johnson. I think that Trey Lyles will find out the same thing Lee did…they don’t need him to get a double-double to win.

I have concluded that Lee has no stones. If you’re that good you should have the internal fire to be a leader. He’s content to be “one of the guys” or he wouldn’t be riding the pine when he could be the man somewhere else.

Having used up 10 of his allotted 15 minutes of fame, the burning question might better be, “Would IU be seriously considered by Marcus Lee if he were to decide to transfer”?

I don’t subscribe to SI so I don’t know when the article was written. I realize that Tracy Abrams is out for the season w/a torn ACL, but to have overlooked him as one of the top 20 guards in the nation is ludicrous…dude got game, imo.

ESPN’s Katz/Greenberg just put out a list of their Top 25 CBB Programs over the next 3 years. I would submit that each of these 25 coaches have earned his salary and will continue to do so. It’s a pretty impressive roster of the nation’s elite and rising programs. Conspicuous by its absence is Indiana, although MSU, Michigan, OSU and Wisconsin made the list. While we might like to think CTC is among the nation’s better coaches, apparently some media gurus disagree. The “We’re young, but the boys are getting to know each other better” mantra only takes us so far…

It’s not just coaching. In ANY line of work, if you are being payed as if you are one of the best in your field, you are expected to produce commensurate results. Period. That’s not CBB, that’s just life.

That would make me very happy if it were accurate! However, I did notice that Lee at KY was not listed as a top 20 Big (but 4 other KY players were listed). Can we get a TRANSFER?

I do not have the numbers in front of me, but I am certain CTC is getting paid in line with the “elite” coaches. By no means was last year’s performance “elite.” On many levels.

I understand we will have down years. It happens. And I do not want to go through the excruciating details of the 2012-2013 season. We have beaten that to death.

Quite simply, with the money being exchanged, more of 2012 and less of 2013 in terms of what we were seeing on the court and the sideline. It’s an opinion.

It is very difficult to see IU finish lower than 5th in the B1G if this is accurate! Only Wichita St and Duke tie Indiana with 2, KY has 3. No other team has more than 1. It is very difficult to see IU finish the regular season lower than a #25 national rank if this is accurate! GO IU!

Now you definitely need to add Emmett to Hanner and Devin!

Hmmm, winning his conference, making it to the Final 4 . . . making solid in-game coaching choices/decisions?

This argument never makes sense to me. Can you explain your thoughts on a coach earning his salary?

The question will fall onto the front-court and defense. I think Hanner and Devin are good enough to hold their own against the BIG front-courts, but Troy and our new additions will help solidify it. It will be up to Yogi finding them when they have their windows and if Hanner and Devin can dominate the post D like I know they have and can continue to do (blocks are what I’m referring to with them)

Alex has the key to the season in a nutshell. If Yogi can settle into “playmaking mode” IU will be fine. If not, IU will sink into the bottom half of the conference and an NIT bid.

I agree with GS and McClain. Time to earn that salary like he did 2 years ago. Last year, not so much.
