I’m referring to specific people I know who were glad he got hurt. I’m not really addressing any ITH’ers just voicing my anger with those so called basketball fans.

Dee:

I agree that the choice of words might be somewhat over-dramatic but our Hoosiers had the opportunities and simply did not close the deal.

Another way to think about the Badger who burned us for 30 (27 over his average) is that the moon is full and there is no accounting for being that unconscious.  Let him score 5 times his average and IU wins.

I don’t think Wisconsin beat us, we beat ourselves on the offensive end.  Too many bunnies that got away.

One could make an argument that playing 3 or 4 games in 4 days could have had a negative effect on our team going into the NCAA, as Knight use to argue. On the other hand VCU could be used as an example, last year, where the Mo they cared from playing so much help with their run. But I agree with you the rest, probably,  will do IU more good than playing 1  or 2 more games in this Tournament.

A midrange shot probably would have freed up Cody a little more. I think Remy could fill that void but he is still a little unsure of himself.

Indiana is a lock at the 4 seed.

I think it is a shame that VJlll is hurt and I know of recent games he has been a very good player and part of this team.  But I am sick of people using his injury as some sort of amunition to attack people who simply speak their minds about what they seen early in the year.  The fact is that VJlll wasn’t playing good basketball early in the season, it isn’t a personal attack against him, it is just a fact.  For proof of this just consider when IU started playing their best basketball.  It was when vJlll first went down with his shoulder.  Again it is not a knock on VJlll.  There are a lot of instances in which a team loses a main contributor and other people step up and when that player returns the team is better off.  It is just part of sports.

Indiana didn’t lose because Verdell Jones wasn’t able to play. Get a grip. Oladipo was practically non-existent offensively, and that wilson kid didn’t miss. And don’t tell me that VJ would’ve stopped him because everyone here knows that wouldn’t have happened. Everyone is over this crap but you. Let it go dude. Quit making this argument especially when the kid can’t play because of a terrible injury.

Way too dramatic in the OP.  IU played pretty well, certainly not their best game, but good enough to beat Wisconsin most days (especially days when Wilson is shooting like Dell Curry).  I pretty much disagree with the whold post.  Wisconsin is not a bad team.  They are and have been highly ranked, and the 4th place team in the best conference in the country.  That alone says that they are a very good team.  IU played hard, perhaps was a little fatigued, but they certainly competed all game long, despite the runs that Wisconsin made every time IU pulled close.  Bottom line it was a very good performance for Wisconsin, and we came up short. Guess what? It happens to every team except two, every year.  only the NIT, and NCaa tourney winners will not be dissapointed in the end.

These guys lost one of their starters yesterday and that will take time to process. They will drop a seed # or two, but they have nothing to be ashamed of. And i think that some rest (specifically for Sheehy) and coming to terms with the loss of VJIII will do some good;

Granted i was loking forward to the rubber match with Izzo&co.

We live again to fight another day and will quite possibly take names, scalps, and heads, on the next journey forward. And I am talking about the next few weeks…The years that follow will take care of themselves.

GO HOOSIERS.

We’ll get a B1G title soon enough.

Did you watch the same game I did?  We lost because a senior who averages 3 ppg and 10 minutes scored 30 points and played like Michael Jordan.  The game was back and forth, but we just couldn’t get over the hump.  Every time we would get it down to 1,2 or 3, Wilson or Bergerren would hit a big shot.

Tip your cap to them.  IU didn’t play badly.  We just got beat.

Never said the sky is falling. IU has the pieces to be an excellent team. Today showed they aren’t there yet. Wisconsin wanted this game more and that is embarrassing. This is the post-season now, this game meant something, or was supposed to. I guess ‘win one for VJ3’ didn’t mean much afterall. Defense is desire and IU didn’t have much desire.

I will have to say that the refs are just inconsistent both ways and it gets old! Also I’m sure Wilson was barely on the scouting report so him going off for 30 is just ridiculous and lucky for Wisky! My final thought, is it me or does Coach Ryan cry and whin about every call?! Seems to rub off on some of his players as well!

Completely agree. This was a horrible showing by IU. I truly find it hard to believe that VJ3 had THAT big of an impact on IU. 0 three point shots in the second half!!!!
