For the first time since the season’s opening week, Indiana women’s basketball is ranked in the top 10 of the Associated Press top 25 poll.

In the latest poll released Monday afternoon, the Hoosiers are ranked No. 10, a jump of four spots from last week.

Indiana was No. 9 to open the season, but lost 96-64 at Stanford on Nov. 12 and fell to No. 18 in the second AP poll.

On Sunday afternoon, Indiana beat Northwestern 100-59 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall behind 27 points and 11 rebounds from star center Mackenzie Holmes.

The Hoosiers are 17-2 overall, 8-1 in the Big Ten and tied for first place in the conference standings.

But a challenging week awaits with two road games and guard Sydney Parrish sidelined “indefinitely” with a foot injury.

Indiana travels to Maryland on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET to face the Terrapins at the Xfinity Center. The Hoosiers are 0-6 all-time in the building with an average margin of defeat of 9.8 points.

Maryland is 12-8 overall and just 4-5 in Big Ten play but is 9-1 at home with a loss to Ohio State.

Even if Indiana can pick up its first-ever win at Maryland, the schedule doesn’t ease up to close the week. Indiana plays at No. 8 Ohio State on Sunday afternoon at Value City Arena.

The Buckeyes have won seven straight, including a narrow 71-68 win on Sunday at Purdue. Ohio State is 17-3 and 8-1 in Big Ten play. Its only home loss came to UCLA, 77-71, on Dec. 18.

Indiana, Ohio State and Iowa are all 8-1 in Big Ten play, with Penn State two games behind in the standings at 6-3.

The Hoosiers still have a home game against Iowa, but Sunday’s matchup against Ohio State in Columbus will be the only meeting between the two programs this season.
