Indiana freshman Jordan Geronimo enters the transfer portal
Indiana freshman forward Jordan Geronimo is entering the NCAA transfer portal, he confirmed on Thursday.
The 6-foot-6 forward from Newark, New Jersey appeared in 22 games as a freshman and averaged 2.2 points and 1.8 rebounds in 8.1 minutes per game. He shot 55.6 percent on 2s and 40 percent on 3s.
His playing time was sporadic throughout the season as he never carved out a consistent role under Archie Miller. Geromino’s best performance as a freshman came on Jan. 21 when he scored seven points in Indiana’s 81-69 win over Iowa at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Geronimo’s defense against Luka Garza was instrumental in the upset win over the Hawkeyes.
By entering the portal, Geronimo will be able to have direct contact with other schools and explore his options for a transfer. His entry into the portal does not prevent him from returning to Indiana next season.
Geronimo originally committed to Indiana on September 2, 2019 following an official visit to Bloomington.
The St. Paul’s School (Concord, NH) wing was the No. 103 player nationally in the 2020 class according to the 247Composite and chose Indiana over Georgia, Virginia, Providence and others.
