Indiana signee Logan Duncomb expresses excitement about Mike Woodson
Indiana signee Logan Duncomb expressed his excitement about IU’s hiring of head coach Mike Woodson and Thad Matta as associate athletic director for men’s basketball administration.
“I think that it’s an awesome hire,” Duncomb told Inside the Hall. “He seems like a really good coach with NBA background. And they bring on That Matta who has college experience. It seems like a deadly duo.”
Duncomb originally committed to Indiana under head coach Archie Miller last April and signed his National Letter of Intent this fall. But two weeks ago, Miller was fired and six IU players have entered the transfer portal. Duncomb, however, didn’t reopen his recruitment.
Duncomb said he’s not met with the new coaching staff yet, but will likely speak with them soon about his future at Indiana.
“I don’t think (Woodson’s) style of play is going to be very conflicting,” Duncomb said. “I think I’ll be alright.”
Duncomb, who’s Indiana’s lone member of the 2021 class, is rated as a four-star center, according to the 247Composite. He averaged 13.9 points and 9.2 rebounds per game in his senior season at Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.
“He seems like a great coach and someone that can really help Indiana be special,” Duncomb said of Woodson.
