Indiana rises to a No. 8 seed in latest ESPN Bracketology
Another week, another fresh set of bracket projections for the 2024 NCAA tournament from ESPN’s Joe Lunardi.
As roster movement continues throughout college basketball, Lunardi regularly updates his projections.
In his latest bracket – published earlier this week – Indiana is a No. 8 seed. That’s up two seed lines from Lunardi’s previous projection.
Lunardi has Indiana playing Iowa State in Charlotte in the East Region of his way-too-early bracket.
The Big Ten currently has eight teams projected to make the field, which ties the SEC. The Big 12 has seven, Big East has six and the Pac-12 and ACC have five each.
Rutgers has fallen out of the projections following the news of Cam Spencer entering the transfer portal.
Michigan State is the top-seeded Big Ten team. Lunardi projects the Spartans as a No. 1 seed.
Other seed lines for Big Ten teams include Purdue (No. 2), Wisconsin (No. 6), Maryland (No. 6), Northwestern (No. 8), Ohio State (No. 11) and Illinois (No. 11). The Buckeyes and the Fighting Illini are currently among the last four teams in the projected field.
Big Ten programs absent from the projections include Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers and Iowa.
