In reply to AZMBNZ. Crean has always given the freshmen, and walk-ons, minutes. Last year he was doing just that when injuries forced him to throw the freshmen into the fire, and they responded well. Glad for those early season minutes, they paid off in the post season and as injuries piled up.

Story of the night: De’Ron Davis doing De’Ron Davis things. Yeah, he is going to be a special player. It’s great to see McFly and Cojo getting some too. Coach Crean seems to give the freshman their minutes. I didn’t see that last year. And Juwan on 8-8 shooting? I don’t think anyone is surprised. I just saw SIU-E play earlier this week, and they were tenacious on the boards. It was great to see IU win that battle.

I hope the young players continue to get some minutes. It may have been forced on us last year, but those early minutes really paid off later. This team is going to be okay with all that untapped potential, can’t wait to watch this season play out.
