Just what I think it should be and Mark already said what I would say so no need to repeat it….I think you are right about the AP not letting IU leap frog KU or DUKE but I think NC goes lower. So IU at 9 is more likely I just don’t agree with it.

Austin, I was only talking about the upcoming rankings next week.

When’s the last time IU made it to 2 back to back bowl games? When’s the last time we had a top 20 pass offense? We have made the message clear. We’re soft. Don’t come to IU to coach if you plan on having high expectations and a hard nose because we’ll just fire you. There are other ways of dealing with things and success has to have more merit than philosophical/political issues. I’m disappointed that we’ve become such a soft liberal haven.

Except we beat KU and UNC, and they each have a loss (us). And KU beat Duke. Note: I don’t know if we’ll go as high as #6. But I don’t think Duke, KU, and UNC will/should be ranked higher than us.

I don’t really see the similarity. JM is way more under control than TW, but not as athletic (although JM did have that nice alley-oop slam). JM is a much better ball handler and a better defender–TW was never that great defensively for whatever reason. JM also more consistently makes better decisions than TW did. Ultimately, I think JM’s upside is higher than TW’s because I don’t think he’ll ever have a tendency to have five turnovers a game.

I’m guessing it’s based on consistency, they aren’t going to give a top 10 ranking to a team that loses on the road pre-conference to FW. It’s playing it safe betting wise in case we lose another “sure win”. (which I don’t think we will, but they don’t know that 🙂

If we get those quality road wins in B1G play against Wisconsin, Purdue..etc…we should crack the top 5…if we split then we’ll hang around in the teens until the tournament I suspect.

I also love Bob Johnson…that kid is solid. He seems to be a driving force in our offense when we’re slumping…he can make it happen, and his defense is brilliant.
