Quick thoughts on a 79-51 win over Youngstown State:

How it happened: It was a tale of two halves for Indiana on Friday night at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers started slow following a week off for Christmas break and led by just nine at halftime over a team that hasn’t beaten a Division I team all season. Indiana turned it over 10 times in the first half and scored just .90 points per possession against one of the worst defensive teams in all of college basketball. The second half, however, was a different story. Zach McRoberts started in place of Al Durham Jr. and gave the Hoosiers a boost once again with his hustle and strong defensive play. By the time McRoberts went to the bench at the 12:34 mark of the second half, the Hoosiers led by 24. IU cruised to its eighth victory of the season from there.

Standout performers: Juwan Morgan had another efficient performance as he shot 7-of-9 from the field to finish with a team-high 16 points. Morgan also had six rebounds, three steals and two blocks in 29 minutes. McRoberts added seven points, eight rebounds (five offensive), two steals and a block in 27 minutes off the bench.

Statistic that stands out: Youngstown State missed its first 15 3-point attempts in the game and finished a dreadful 2-of-25 (eight percent) from behind the 3-point arc.
