Trayce Jackson-Davis scores career-high 20 points in Golden State’s win against Houston
Former Indiana All-American Trayce Jackson-Davis continued his terrific rookie season with a career-high in points on Thursday night.
Jackson-Davis, who made his 10th start for Golden State, scored a career-high 20 points in 28 minutes in a 133-110 win at Houston.
The 6-foot-9 big man shot 8-for-10 from the field in 28 minutes. He also had five rebounds, four assists, a steal and a blocked shot.
“Trayce was one of the best players at Indiana in the college scene,” Golden State teammate Klay Thompson said postgame. “When you play for four years and you’re NBA-ready, I mean, you can tell he’s been coached very well and his fundamentals are very good.
“He’s an NBA-ready player. The value we get from him as the 50-something pick is very special. Give our front office credit for that and give Trayce a ton of credit for just his readiness as a professional. It’s very impressive. He’s had such an incredible year, I would assume he would be on one of these all-rookie teams. He’s been playing that well.”
Jackson-Davis is now shooting 70.7 percent from the field in 16 minutes per game in his first NBA season.
Overall, he’s averaging 7.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and one block per game.
The Warriors have won six straight and are 42-34 and four games ahead of Houston for the final play-in spot for the Western Conference playoffs with six regular season games left.
The No. 57 pick in the 2023 NBA draft, Jackson-Davis played four seasons at Indiana, including a first-team All-American campaign during his final year in the cream and crimson.
His career accolades include the Karl Malone Award in 2023, Indiana’s Mr. Basketball Award in 2019, a McDonald’s All-American selection in 2019, first team All-Big Ten honors in 2023 and two selections to the Big Ten All-defensive team (2022 and 2023).
