Trayce Jackson-Davis finishes 11th in NBA All-Rookie voting

Former IU forward Trayce Jackson-Davis finished 11th in NBA All-Rookie voting for the 2023-24 season released Monday afternoon.

Jackson-Davis, 24, received 42 NBA All-Rookie second-team votes, placing him just one point behind GG Jackson II of Memphis.

The top five vote-getters earned NBA All-Rookie first-team honors, with the sixth-place through tenth-place vote-getters earning second-team honors.

The first team: Chet Holmgren of Oklahoma City, Victor Wenbanyama of San Antonio, Brandon Miller of Charlotte, Jaime Jaquez Jr. of Miami and Brandin Podziemski of Golden State.

The second team: Dereck Lively II of Dallas, Amen Thompson of Houston, Keyonte George of Utah, Cason Wallace of Oklahoma City and Jackson II.

The No. 57 pick in last June’s 2023 NBA draft, Jackson-Davis appeared in 68 games for Golden State.

He started 16 times and averaged 7.9 points, five rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.1 blocks in 16.6 minutes per game.

The former IU All-American shot 70.2 percent from the field as a rookie, the highest field goal percentage for a season ever for a former Hoosiers in the NBA.

The last former IU player to earn NBA All-Rookie team honors was Yogi Ferrell, who earned second-team honors for Dallas back in the 2016-17 season.
